Grandma's Footsteps

Updated: Dec 4, 2024

A fun game that will be familiar to anyone who played Mr. Wolf as a kid. Players can get very competitive leading to very funny moments for the audience.

How to Play:

  • 5-6 players (the "grandchildren") form a line Upstage, facing the audience. Another player, (“Grandma”) is Downstage, also facing the audience. An empty chair is placed Centre Stage.

  • The first grandchild to tap Grandma on the shoulder wins the game. They must fully sit in the chair before reaching Grandma.

  • Grandma can turn around at any time and if they see someone move, they name that player who then has to go back Upstage and begin again. If a player is sent Upstage after sitting in the chair, they must sit in the chair again before reaching Grandma.

  • The grandchild who taps Grandma on the shoulder first wins the game, and becomes the new Grandma.

Variations:

  • Firiendly contact can be allowed or disallowed, depending on group dynamics.

Notes:

  • Focus on making a connection with the audience, especially during moments of flops.
